Great post. I'm curious if you ever heard anything else from IP. Individual customers are getting crappy service all over and sometimes it seems like a HUGE double standard.

I doubt if you were to go in there, pour back a few and then go up to their manager and declare you'd never seen his "UGLY FACE" before that they'd give you a "second chance"...
...not that I'm recommending that or anything (wink, wink).

As a MS Gulf Coast Resident and not an employee of a casino; I am truly sorry that you and your wife were treated in such a rude manner by such an obiviously ignorant individual. I feel that you should have taken your complaint directly to the VP of her dept which would have definitely let her know that she should speak to people in such a crude manner and I agree she should have been counseled and probably put on probation. I know that we all have our bad days and when at work they should be left at home. I do not know this individual nor her situation but please bear in mind the stress that we have all had to deal with and are still dealing with due to the lifestyle changes that Katrina has made in all of our lives. There are still many of us living in FEMA trailers or our unfinished homes. I'm not asking for sympathy here just a little understanding. One never knows what someone else is going through on a daily basis in their own lives. Now, this certainly does not make it right for her to treat anyone in the maner in which you all were treated. Again, I am sorry that you both had to experience such rudeness.

However, my main issue is regarding the restaurant wait. Since Hurricane Katrina even now as of 2/16/08, we still have a long wait during normal dinner hours. Please understand that we still, more than two years later have an extremely limited number of quality dining (not fast food)restaurants available. Which not only has to service the MS Gulf Coast residents but also our guests which we most certainly appreciate coming to visit our community.

We as residents, even prior Katrina knew that in order to not wait in the long lines for those delicious crab legs served at most casinos we had to go early. Please do not take this the wrong way, I just wanted you to have insight from someone who lives on the Gulf Coast and deals with our restaurant issues on a daily basis. So I have felt your pain many times.

Also, as an update we still have very little development on Highway 90 which was the HUB for most of our restaurant venues outside of the casino industry. Please hang in there as I know one day we will be back and things will be the way they used to be and I truly hope that day will be soon.
